After Hurricane Odile moved across a large area of Baja California, there have been several near-misses with subsequent tropical systems. The next system to take aim at this part of Mexico is Tropical Storm Simon.
After reaching Category 4 hurricane status with 130 mph winds over the weekend, Simon is now downgraded to a topical storm as it moves over cooler waters approaching Baja California Norte.
Flooding is now the main concern with rain totals as high as 9 inches across the Baja. Southwest and central Arizona should be ready for the potential of flooding as this
weakening storm will still have abundant moisture with it.
