Above is an intriguing photo taken after the Augustine Volcano erupted in Alaska 10 years ago.The image portrays a gigantic cloud of ash that rose above the mountain and two lava flows crawling down its sides as a result of the eruption. Historically, the Augustine volcano has been the most active volcano in Alaska’s Cook Inlet region with eruptions as recent as 2006. Photo Credit: Cyrus Read, USGS- March 27, 2006.
