Not Too Much June Gloom

The trend of morning cloudiness and afternoon sunshine looks to continue across southern California. The mild weather will continue.

Looking longer term, the ridge that threaten to bring us much warmer weather doesn’t show up in the long range models around mid-June. (The models might change their mind, however.)

We seem to be locked in this long term pattern with a persistent trough along the west coast. A ridge is building over the southern Plains, typical for this time of year. Most of the storm activity is focused on the central Plains to the Midwest for the next few days.

Recall that last summer, we also started on the very mild side, and the heat followed. Im not seeing that yet, but Im watching…
