Welcome/Bienvenida Claudia Tippett, M.S., to the WeatherExtreme Ltd. Team

In June of 2018 Claudia joined WeatherExtreme Ltd. as Marine Scientist.
Mrs. Claudia Tippett, M.S. has 20 years of experience with energy and environmental conservation projects in Mexico, Belize, Cuba, and the USA. Born in Veracruz, Mexico she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Veracruz and a Master’s degree in Marine Ecology from the CICESE (Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education). She is also the recipient of a WWF grant to present her work in Guatemala with the Antillean manatee and local fishermen communities in Mexico and Belize.
At WeatherExtreme Ltd. Claudia works on various projects from oceanic to atmospheric including research and forensic cases.
At the Center of tropical Research of the University of Veracruz, Claudia managed the “Network for the Knowledge and Sustainability of the Gulf of Mexico.” She organized collaborations between institutions in Mexico, Cuba, and the United States and organized four multidisciplinary workshops addressing environmental issues involving ten international academic institutions to help strengthen education programs (undergraduate and post-graduate), promoting the capacity to generate and execute integrated inter-institutional committees for research.
At the California Institute for Biodiversity, in San Francisco, CA, she worked to improve science literacy and promote environmental education to address the effects of climate change and engage California educators with the book, Southern California Teacher Guide: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water.
Mrs. Tippett is also the recipient of a WWF grant to present her work in Guatemala with the Antillean manatee and local fishermen communities in Mexico and Belize.
Claudia Tippett lives in Reno with her husband and two children. They love being outdoors, traveling, cooking, and eating good food.

La M.C. Claudia Tippett tiene 20 años de experiencia en proyectos de energía, medio ambiente y conservación en México, Belice, Cuba y Estados Unidos. Nacida en Veracruz, México, obtuvo su licenciatura en Biología en la Universidad Veracruzana y su maestría en Ecología Marina en el CICESE (Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada). Ella es también fue becaria de WWF Russell E. Train Education for Nature Program para viajar a Guatemala y presentar su experiencia de investigación con el manatí antillano en las comunidades rivereñas de México y Belice.
En WeatherExtreme Ltd. Claudia trabaja en diversos proyectos desde oceánico hasta atmosférico incluyendo casos de investigación y forense.
En el Centro de Investigaciones Tropicales de la Universidad Veracruzana, Claudia coordinó la “Red Para el Conocimiento y Sustentabilidad en el Golfo de México” y organizó la colaboración entre Instituciones de México, Cuba y Estados Unidos a través de cuatro talleres multidisciplinarios enfocados en temas ambientales involucrando diez instituciones académicas internacionales para fortalecer sus programas educativos (licenciatura y estudios de posgrado), y promover la capacidad para generar y ejecutar comités inter-institucionales para investigación.
En el California Institute for Biodiversity, en San Francisco, CA, colaboró para mejorar la educación en ciencia y promover la educación ambiental sobre el cambio climático involucrando a los educadores en California con el libro: Southern California Teacher Guide: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water”.
Claudia vive en Reno, Nevada con su esposo y sus dos hijos. Le gustan las actividades al aire libre, viajar, cocinar y comer buena comida.
